Senior Management

Tony Veitch - Executive Director

Tony has more than 25 years' experience in the corporate advisory and resources sectors. As a founding director of Atlantic Vanadium Pty Ltd, he led the management team that negotiated and secured the acquisition of the Windimurra project in 2016.

Tony is currently a director of MACH Energy, a major coal mining business that owns the Mount Pleasant coal mine in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Tony was one of the founding directors of MACH Energy and part of the management team that negotiated the acquisition of the Mount Pleasant project from Rio Tinto and the subsequent development of the project at a cost of over $500 million.

Prior to joining Atlantic, Tony was an Executive Director of Citadel Capital and Manager of Corporate Projects for the London Stock Exchange plc.

Tony has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters in Business Administration.

Doug Marshall - Project Manager

Doug has more than 40 years’ experience in the design and construction of mining and industrial projects in Australia and internationally.

Doug is currently the Project Manager responsible for the upgrade of the Windimurra vanadium plant and infrastructure and for bringing the project into production.

Prior to joining Atlantic in February 2019, Doug’s roles have included owners’ team, EPCM and contractor roles in both lump sum and reimbursable contract delivery environments. Recent relevant experience in Western Australia include the role of General Manager Projects for MSP Engineering managing a $1 billion portfolio across Talison’s Greenbushes lithium plant and construction of Tianqi’s lithium hydroxide refinery at Kwinana.

Doug has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and is a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Ian Ritchie - Technical Manager

Ian was responsible for managing the work leading to the successful completion of the DFS. This included managing the main technical inputs and environmental permitting aspects together with coordinating the other main study inputs over the last two years.

Ian has over 35 years’ experience in the minerals industry, including technical management and study management roles, both with consultants, engineering firms and with a number of mining companies. The projects have covered a wide range of commodities and countries.

He has a BSc (Eng) and PhD from Imperial College and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Brett Foster - General Manager Operations

Brett is a metallurgist with over 20 years’ experience in the mining industry and is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, with qualifications in mechanical engineering, project, HR and business management. He has worked throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea and South Africa in gold, copper, ilmenite and vanadium.

Brett’s extensive vanadium experience was gained from early roles with Rhombus Vanadium (Rhovan) in South Africa and with the original Windimurra development. Brett brings significant experience from having been involved during the original construction, commissioning and operation of the Windimurra project with Xstrata. 

Ian Rowe - General Manager Finance

Ian has over 10 years' experience in the corporate finance, accounting and resources sectors. Since joining Atlantic in May 2018, Ian has managed the finance and commercial aspects of the business, including detailed financial modelling to support the Windimurra DFS.

Prior to joining Atlantic, Ian was Senior Manager of Corporate Finance with RSM Australia and Lead Analyst of First Quantum Minerals Limited based in London.  

Ian commenced his career as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, Perth and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia.
